It was a 200 K which wiggled into 126 miles of total cycling. The beauty of doing something epic is that you are making memories at every moment. But it’s also a lot like being in a field at night surrounded by fireflies: you don’t know which ones are going to end up in the jar and which ones are going to go free. There's no turning back now, my dear - you have three years to train for Paris-Brest-Paris . . . Your write-up was great - it really made me smile in a "been there, felt that" way - nothing like a headwind and some saddle, um, "issues" to make the last couple miles of a brevet feel like the Bataan Death Ride. Trust me - a different saddle, better shorts and some strategically applied baby powder and/or chamois butter could make all the difference in the world . . . My riding time in the TOE was pretty much the same, but I didn't get nearly as far. So are you thinking beyond 400k? I could see training like crazy for 400k. Crazy, but in a totally do-able way. That’s what *I* was thinking… OUCH.
