Spring is here – time for a set of new wheels. Human-powered pedal style!
I get a ton of questions from friends, blog readers, Oregonian readers, and general random strangers about how to go about buying a new bike. Last Sunday I laid down the basics in the Outdoors section of the O.
The package is targeted toward “fitness riders” and people just getting into cycling longer distances, so racers – you can skip this one. You know more than I do anyway.
But if you’re just dipping your toes into the Big World of Cycling, this short piece could save you a little heartache.
P.S. Due to the space limitations associated with print media, it doesn’t cover tips for buying used bikes. There’s definitely a trick to that, too – and hopefully we’ll have a package out about that real soon.
