Portland VeloSwap 2009: Get Your Gear On

0 Comments 23 December 2008Print This Post

Mark your calendars for January 10, 2009 and get ready for the 1st annual Portland Velo Swap.  Based on the press release, it sounds like a Portland-style cycling swap meet on crack, I mean beer.  Yeah, that’s it – a drunken cycling-related swap meet to end all swap meets. Portland style.

Frankly, I’ve never been to an event at Roots Brewing Company that didn’t totally kick ass (think Cross Crusade kickoff party and Bike Craft 2008!), so I’m going to shine up my winter booties and spin on down.  See you there?

Here’s a little bit more about the event. (Check the website for full details including how to reserve a table if you’d like to unload all your tired 2008 crap on some unsuspecting victim.)

Portland is for cyclists and 2009 is for bargain hunters. New & used bicycles, components, and anything else related to cycling at the 1st Annual Portland Veloswap on January 10th, 2009.

Upgrading, selling, or wanting to trade cycling equipment this event is for you!

Portland, Ore. Cycling in the winter may be for the hardened and seasoned cyclists, but for some that means clearing out the old parts, upgrading, or selling the past seasons cycling gear. At the 1st annual Portland VeloSwap (www.PortlandVeloSwap.com) on January 10th, 2009 from 9am-5pm at Roots Organic Brewing located at 1520 SE 7th Ave. Admission is $3 (16 and under free) with your paid admission you get $1 off your food or drink at Roots.

This is an all ages event. Throughout the day there will be up to 100 vendors selling, which will change every 2 hours from 9am-5pm.
