The Everyday Athlete Store!
Nope, not mine!
Last night at the Veloforma Pro Team launch party I learned that one of our elite riders, Robin Secrist (she’s pretty incredible!), is dating a nice fellow named Wade Praeger who just happens to be the owner of a store in Kirkland, Washington called “Everyday Athlete“.
Wade was super gracious and did not threaten me with a lawsuit, which was cool (thanks, Wade). We talked about the name and what it means to us.
I checked out his bio online and was excited to learn that he previously worked at Jock n Jill, a Seattle running store that I absolutely worshiped as a high school cross-country runner. Every year, my parents took me on a special trip to the store to get fitted for the perfect pair of running shoes. Over the years, Jock n Jill also hooked me up with racing flats, track spikes, blingy socks, and warm weather gear. Every trip there was a special treat for me and I anticipated them with great excitement. Who knows, maybe Wade was one of the pros who hooked me up with just the right kicks for my jacked-up feet!
I get up to the Seattle area every couple months so I’m putting a stop in Kirkland on my next itinerary. Wade, set a hat aside for me! I’m coming to storm the retail space!
