I've known this for years and have refrained from telling it to people simply to avoid the inevitable roll of the eyes and smirk of the other person when they think to themselves, "What is this guy, nuts?"

You have a splinter in your finger that you can't quit get out with tweezers? Go to bed imagining your body pushing it out of your hand. Fully come to the awareness that your body will have that splinter out by your first sip of coffee and sure enough, that little bugger will be sticking out far enough to get your tweezers around it.

Can't quite remember that theme song you want so desperately to remember? Same thing: go to be imagining that you will wake up singing it and you might be surprised at the results.

Heidi, I love your writing. Keep up the great work!
